There are moments in life when love feels incomplete—when what we receive are only fragments of what our hearts truly long for... a whoever. "Love That Found Me" is a deeply personal and reflective poem that journeys through the ache of unmet expectations, the haunting silence of being unseen, and the quiet pain of love that never fully stays. It speaks to the soul that has reached out time and again, only to find empty hands in return.
Yet beyond the sorrow, this poem reveals a greater truth: that even in the deepest void, there is a love that does not fade, fail, or forsake. Through the darkness of human disappointment, the unwavering and overwhelming love of Jesus Christ shines brightest—offering healing, wholeness, and a place to finally belong.
LOVE THAT FOUND ME
They gave me fragments, I longed for a whole,
A love lukewarm I could not keep at all,
I reached for hands to support my aching heart,
But found them fading and slowly depart.
Affection may come, I tenderly cherish,
In the fleeting light at break of dawn it vanish.
Each promise left me aching, heart throbs in pain—
A love half-given, it will never remain.
I watched the sky remain so high and blue,
Though heart like mine is torn no one ever knew,
The world went on as if it reads my heart,
No ache could tear a longing soult apart.
For losing man brings only silent pain,
Yet stars shine brightly in heaven's domain—
But all their light feels cold, in vain and blind,
When deeper love I cannot find.
Denied of every love and every earthly grace,
No arms to hold, I find no resting place,
No gentle gaze, no heart I trust,
No love that chose me my heart crumbles in the dust—
I stood alone, empty hands, to place to call my home,
No human heart to call my own, I only roam,
A soul no one could understand; alone, forsaken,
A life that love had ever known, a heart that's broken.
But in that void, so deep and wide,
Jesus Christ drew near and stood beside.
When all I longed and hoped for disappeared,
He spoke the Word and in my heart revealed—
Not words of loss, nor of despair,
But love so vast, so sweet tho unaware.
A love no absence could compare,
A flame that turned my dark into a flare.
He loved me more than all I sought,
More than the battles I had fought.
More than the dreams I could not keep,
More than the wounds that made me weep.
Where I was empty, He made whole,
Where I was lost, He called me found,
He poured His life into my soul,
Till grace and mercy did abound.
So I took the love I never once knew,
For in His arms, I’ve found what’s true—The touch I missed, the words denied,
His love is one no loss can ever hide.
Though all the world may turn away,
His love remains, and here will stay—
And tho they leave me with no place to start,
His love so vast enough to fill my longing heart.
"Love That Found Me" is more than a story of loss—it is a testimony of redemption. It reminds us that while earthly love may falter or fall short, divine love meets us in our emptiness and restores what was broken and give even more than the needed restoration. What once felt like rejection becomes the very ground where grace takes root and grows.
In the end, this poem leaves us with a powerful assurance: that no matter how many times we are left unseen or unloved by the world, we are fully known, deeply loved, and eternally held by Jesus Christ. And in Him, every longing heart finds not just comfort—but completion.
